Welcome! I'm Carey and I hope my story inspires you to take charge of your health Journey today!
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals of all ages and abilities, including people with disabilities—a passion that began when I was fifteen. Babysitting a girl with Down syndrome ignited a lifelong love for helping others. This experience paved the way for a rewarding 22-year career managing health, fitness, and recreation programs designed for people with disabilities. Helping others unlock their potential has always been at the heart of what I do, and it continues to inspire me every day.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to speak to large groups in various settings—employee training, emceeing talent shows, banquets, programs, conferences, and a year long leadership academy. These experiences sharpened my communication skills and deepened my passion for connecting with audiences.
In February 2023, I took the next step in my speaking journey by joining Toastmasters. This organization has helped me refine my skills further, and I am honored to be stepping into the role of Toastmaster President of our club in January 2025. My dream is to continue expanding my impact by speaking on even larger stages, empowering more women to take control of their health and thrive through life’s transitions.
My personal experiences have shaped who I am as a coach and speaker. My senior year of high school, I quit sports and started working at a fast-food restaurant, which led to a twenty pound weight gain. A customer’s hurtful comment about my appearance pushed me into extreme dieting and exercise, sparking a five-year battle with disordered eating.
During this time, I also endured a car accident and found myself in an unhealthy relationship. It felt like I had hit rock bottom, but I was determined to heal. Step by step, I learned to manage my emotions, nutrition, and insecurities. Eventually, I found the strength to leave the unhealthy relationship and discovered one of the most valuable lessons of my life: Self-Love must always come first.
This journey of resilience has fueled my passion for helping others embrace their own challenges, rewrite their stories, and prioritize their well-being.
In my mid-thirties, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, which caused sleepless nights, a racing heart and anxiety. During my first pregnancy, we were able to control my thyroid with medication. After my second pregnancy, I was prescribed a long-term medication that caused me to break out in hives. My doctor insisted the medication wasn’t to blame and prescribed numerous allergy pills to treat the hives. After a month of taking more pills, I realized this wasn’t the way I wanted to live and decided to take control of my health and stopped all medications.
Through books, research, and dedication, I changed my mindset, improved my diet, and committed to regular exercise. This decision was life-changing. For the past 15 years, I’ve successfully managed my thyroid with proper Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, and Nutrition. This journey ultimately led me to become a Certified Health Coach through the Dr. William Sears Wellness Institute, where I now empower others to take control of their health as well.
In July 2024, in my search to help women on a deeper level, I discovered the Menopause Coaching Certification through the Girls Gone Strong Movement. Personally knowing the challenges that menopause can bring, I knew this was my opportunity to further support women, and I jumped at the chance to deepen my expertise.
Now, as a coach and speaker, I’m passionate about empowering women to take charge of their health and well-being. I believe that when you prioritize yourself, you unlock your true potential and live a fulfilling, healthy life. Putting yourself first isn’t selfish—it’s the foundation for everything else.
My family has always been a pillar of support throughout my journey. My husband has been by my side through every challenge and triumph, providing unwavering support and encouragement. Together, we've built a strong foundation, rooted in love, respect, and mutual growth.
My two daughters have been my greatest teachers, showing me the importance of balance, mindfulness, and resilience. I remember capturing a photo of them meditating on a rock—a powerful moment that reflects the strength we strive for in our family. By prioritizing my health and well-being, I aim to lead by example, showing them what it means to live a strong, balanced, and empowered life - physically, mentally and emotionally. This journey has not only strengthened me as a woman, but has made me a more present and empowered role model for my daughters.
As a mom and wife, I've learned that taking care of myself allows me to show up as the best version of myself for my family. We are a team, supporting each other to grow, thrive, and embrace every challenge life brings.
